These are people who would like you to support them, whether in ideals, or (more likely) financially. Don't trust them. It sounds as if you have done a lot of introspection, this is a good thing. The bad thing is that usually the people who do that the most are the ones that have been victimized and it is the the perpetrators of those wrongs, who should actually be doing the introspection. Hold your head high, you've survived the crap they threw at you.
